

Orlando, Fla., October 10, 2008 – Susan C. Harris and Angela White recently joined the Dr. P. Phillips Orlando Performing Arts Center as associate director of development and grants manager respectively.
As the associate director of development, Harris’ primary responsibility will be securing funds for the capital campaign, an initiative focused on raising significant funding for construction of the performing arts center. Harris relocated from Miami, Fla., where she most recently served as director of the annual fund and director of major gifts at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. During her tenure with the Arsht Center Harris was responsible for implementing the charter membership campaign, the annual campaign and the major gift campaign. She also maintained donor relations, retention and the stewardship programs.
Harris, a Florida native, earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Columbia University. Prior to her work with the Arsht Center, Harris served as a Foreign Service specialist for the U.S. Department of State.
Following the arts center’s commitment to positively impact the local arts community, Angela White will be responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive grants program that will help fund future cultural programs throughout the Central Florida community. Prior to joining the Dr. P. Phillips Orlando Performing Arts Center, White served as an account executive for Tucker-Hall, Inc., one of Florida’s largest public affairs firms, where she worked with high-profile clients and assisted with local media planning and placement.
White, a native of Milwaukee, Wis., earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Tennessee State University and her master’s degree in public policy from Ohio State University, where she was a university fellowship recipient. Before relocating to Florida, she served as a research assistant for the Ohio Department of Health and worked in marketing and development for the Nashville Opera Association.

The Dr. P. Phillips Orlando Performing Arts Center is an independent non-profit 501(c) 3 corporation dedicated to developing, building and operating the new performing arts center in downtown Orlando. DPAC plans to develop a mixed-use urban arts center with three main halls, educational facilities, a public theater plaza, and retail and commercial expansion with development partner, Hines. DPAC will be Central Florida’s destination of choice for arts, cultural and entertainment programming. It will serve our diverse community by educating and nurturing artists, arts organizations, audiences and students throughout the region and the state of Florida.
